The fluitvierdaagse 1997 happens during a time that internet doesn't really exist. Now you can change the picture of an artist with a click on te name. In 1997 the poster is sticked to the windows for several weeks. More then 50 renowned musicians, 9 concerts, 30 workshops and several masterclasses, more then 140 participants, an exciting concours, sold out concerts and 500 visitors of the galaconcert in the Janskerk in Utrecht. Impressive numbers for a festival. Ported by the quality of the performers: Anne la Berge, Kees Buskes, Jorge Caryevschi, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Benoit Fromanger, Áshildur Haraldsdóttir, Wilbert Hazelzet, Steve Horowitz, Thijs van Leer, Marja Mosk, Wil Offermans, Jeroen Pek, Emmanuelle Sanglar, Marieke Schneemann, Mariken van Spronsen, Nobuko Takahashi, Anneke de Vries, Jean–Paul Wright and others. Supported by impressive sponsors: Rabobank, Matthew's Muziek, Wm S Haynes, Trevor J James & Co, Databus, Prins Bernhard Fonds, Air France, Drukkerij van Eersel, Dagan Fluitatelier, Brannen Cooper Fund en Yamaha. In a unique manner given shape by designer Ron van Blokland. Not in the last place grown big by the unflagging industry of particularly Dini Adams and Kees Buskes. As a homage 10 years after dato now on this site.
